DAYTON MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING DRUG SEIZURE DURING SCIOTO COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP

PORTSMOUTH, OH – Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer announce the arrest of a Dayton, Ohio man on drug charges following an investigation conducted by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force in coordination with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.


As part of the ongoing investigation, at approximately 1:02 p.m. on August 24th, 2026, The Ohio State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling near mile marker 12 on US Route 23 in Lucasville, Ohio for traffic violations. During the stop, Troopers seized approximately 150 grams of suspected Crack Cocaine and approximately 158 grams of suspected Fentanyl. The estimated street value of the suspected drugs seized is $36,960


Arrested was 48-year-old Dorian Lee Dorsey of Dayton, Ohio. Dorsey was charged with two counts of Trafficking in Drugs and two counts of Possession of Drugs, all felonies of the 1st degree.


Dorsey was placed in the Scioto County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court at 9:00a.m. on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026.


The case will eventually be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor's Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony charges.
