Lucasville Woman Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman announced that on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 12:40 p.m., detectives conducting a follow-up investigation observed a female in a vehicle who was known to have an active arrest warrant. Detectives then initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of 11th Street and Lincoln Street in Portsmouth.
During the traffic stop, detectives located approximately 21.64 grams of crack cocaine, scheduled narcotics, a large amount of cash, and drug paraphernalia. Investigators also reported that during the stop, the female attempted to swallow a piece of crack cocaine, but due to the quick actions of detectives, she was unsuccessful and the substance was recovered. She was taken into custody without further incident.
Arrested was Brandi Hanley, 41, of Caldwell Road, Lucasville. Hanley has been charged with:
Trafficking in Drugs, a felony of the second degree
Possession of Drugs, a felony of the second degree
Tampering with Evidence, a felony of the third degree
Possession of Drugs, a felony of the fifth degree
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree
Probation Violation Warrant
Hanley is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Friday, May 29, 2026.
