PORTSMOUTH, OH – Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reports that active arrest

warrants have been issued for 22-year-old Rodney White Jr. in connection with a violent stabbing

incident that left a victim in critical condition.


On August 8, 2026, the Scioto County 911 Communications Center received a call from Wheelersburg Urgent Care regarding a male subject brought into their facility suffering from multiple stab wounds. A responding Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy determined that the victim was stabbed during an altercation. Due to the severity of the injuries, the victim was evacuated by medical helicopter to an out-of-town hospital, where he remains listed in critical condition.


Scioto County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the scene to process evidence, review security camera footage, and interview multiple witnesses. Following the ongoing investigation, detectives filed arrest warrants for the suspect.


SUSPECT DETAILS:

  • Name: Rodney White Jr.

  • Age: 22

  • Last Known Address: Spring Hill, Tennessee

  • Physical Description: African American male, approximately 6'0" tall, with longer hair and glasses.

  • Active Warrants: Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault

  • Caution: White should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.


"This remains an active and ongoing investigation," stated Sheriff David Thoroughman. "Additional charges are expected to be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date."
