Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reports that his 911 communication center received a
call on Sunday, June 1,2025 at 6:59 am from an employee of Dollar General store located at 16 Brouse Run West Portsmouth.
The employee reported that he reported to work and found that someone had broken in to the business by shattering the front glass on the door.
Upon the arrival of deputies and detectives they observed a trail of blood, as well as a trail of woman's panties and bras which had been stolen from the store, leading away from the business.
Sheriff Thoroughman advised that the surveillance cameras inside the store showed a male subject wearing what appeared to be white underwear or panties as well as a cape. The suspect had no other clothing nor shoes on. The subject busted the front door glass out and walked straight to the female clothing section, grabbing several packs of panties and bras. He then fled the store on foot. The suspect left a trail of panties and bras leading away from the store towards the roadway.
Detectives were able to recover evidence which has been sent for testing.Â
