Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman states that detectives continued the investigation into the drowning of the child at the Quality Inn.
After following up and speaking with witnesses it was learned that with the names of the two sisters being similar and the dreadful scene that was playing out that the names of the sisters were mixed up.
The detective learned that the younger sister had fallen into the pool and the older sister, Mackenzie, attempted to pull her out. Mackenzie was unsuccessful and went under the water as well.
Sheriff Thoroughman states that this is still an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Detective Tackett-Dye at 740-351-1099.
